TOPIC: Restitution [Open Heaven for Teens 14 November 2023]

BIBLE TEXT: Luke 19:8-9

[8]And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

[9]And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

MESSAGE: 

Restitution is not a new doctrine, it has been in practice for a long time, as seen in the Bible text of today. Restitution is an avenue to make your way right with your fellow man. It is an act of putting right what was wrongly done, just as Zacchaeus did. It is also the restoration of something stolen or lost to the proper owner.

Restitution is a command in the Bible to enable us to follow peace with all men. This is an important step for every child of God to have a clear conscience. The act of restitution brings favour from God, speedy answers to prayers, healing, power to do exploits, and fearlessness. My beloved child, make restitution with people you have quarrelled with in the past, and restitute for all the lies you have told to your parents and friends so you can have peace with God and man.

ACTION POINT:

Ask God for help and make restitutions for the wrongs you have done.

TOPIC: Fresh Start [Open Heaven for Teens 13 November 2023]

MEMORISE: And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Revelation 21:5

BIBLE TEXT: Luke 5:36-38

[36]And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

[37]And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

[38]But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

MESSAGE: 

After Job lost all his possessions, children, and fame, God gave him a fresh start in the latter part of His life, A Yoruba adage says: "the palace that got burnt will be rebuilt in great splendour". That unpleasant situation you have been through should not determine your end because there is a chance to start afresh now that you're still young.

Jesus gave the adulterous woman a fresh start, and she became a vessel unto honour. Likewise, the thief on the right hand of Jesus at the cross also had a fresh start. Saul, who became Paul, had a fresh start. It is not possible to have committed a sin worse than these people, so you also can have a fresh start.

What you need may just be a new studying strategy from God. If you are tired of reading and not getting a pleasant result, God can turn it around and make it a new beginning for you.

Only God can give a fresh start, for Him to do so, surrender all to Him, obey His word, and be diligent in all you do.

KEY POINT

A fresh start is possible if only you give God a chance.
