BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 28:1-7
1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
MESSAGE:
The beginning of Jesus’ life (His morning) was a bright one indeed. Luke 2:8-14 says that even the heavenly mass choir paid a visit to the world to sing at His birth. Everyone, including the king, knew that a special child had been born. When he turned 30, Jesus began His ministry on earth and performed many miracles. Then came the night time of His life when he was crucified; there was darkness at noon as the sun refused to shine that day (Mark 15:35). However, before long, morning came again.
Today’s Bible reading marked the beginning of Jesus’ new day, and several things happened to herald it. First, there was a great earthquake to signify to the whole world that a new day had come. Thereafter, an angel came down, rolled away the stone at His tomb, and sat on it; this can be said to signify permanent victory.
Jesus’ resurrection brought a new day for everyone who accepts Him as his or her Saviour. If Jesus is your Saviour, I congratulate you. However, if you are still committing sin, then you are crucifying Jesus Christ afresh (Hebrews 6:6). I implore you to surrender your life to Him now and stay away from sin henceforth.
QUIZ: There are two possible destinations after death. Name them.
REFLECTION
Have you surrendered your life to Jesus?

HYMN 31 – Wonderful Story Of Love
1 Wonderful story of love! Tell it to me again;
Wonderful story of love! Wake the immortal strain.
Angels with rapture announce it,
Shepherds with wonder receive it;
Sinner, O won’t you believe it?
Wonderful story of love!
Refrain:
Wonderful! Wonderful!
Wonderful story,
Wonderful story of love!
2 Wonderful story of love!
Though you are far away;
Wonderful story of love!
Still he doth call today.
Calling from Calvary’s mountain,
Down from the crystal bright fountain,
E’en from the dawn of creation;
Wonderful story of love!
3 Wonderful story of love!
Jesus provides a rest;
Wonderful story of love!
For all the pure and blest;
Rest in those mansions above Us,
With those who’ve gone on before Us,
Singing the rapturous
