BIBLE READING: Psalm 62:1-8

1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

MESSAGE:

Hebrews 11:6 says that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. People who have done good things in an excellent manner are usually rewarded; therefore, what the passage is telling us is that God wants us to seek Him diligently so He can reward us.

To seek God diligently, you need to go the extra mile in Bible study and prayer. You need to study the Bible for hours; choose one topic at a time and study until you really understand God’s mind about that topic. You should also make prayer your lifestyle and not just an activity. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.” In the place of prayer, pour out your heart to God, and your major yearning should be, “Lord, I want to know You more.”

Beloved, there are great rewards in diligently seeking God. Top on the list is that He will open Himself up to you in ways that a regular Christian may never see. He will reveal secrets to you, and you will see the invisible and hear the inaudible.

KEY POINT

Seek God diligently, and He will surely reward you.

HYMN 55– Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose

1 Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose;

Hear Thy Guardian Angel Say,

“Thou Art In The Midst Of Foes:

Watch And Pray!”

2 Principalities And Powers,

Mustering Their Unseen Array,

Wait For Thy Unguarded Hours:

“Watch And Pray.”

3 Gird Thy Heavenly Armour On;

Wear It Every Night And Day

Ambush’d Lies The Evil One:

“Watch And Pray.”

4 Hear The Victors Who O’ercame;

Still They Mark Each Warrior’s Way;

All With One Sweet Voice Exclaim,

“Watch And Pray!”

5 Hear, Above AlI, Hear Thy Lord,

Him Thou Lovest To Obey;

Hide Within Thy Heart His Word:

“Watch And Pra!.”

6 Watch, As If On That Alone

Hung The Issue Of The Day;

Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:

Watch And Pray.
