OPENING PRAYER: Father, please make me a resourceful instrument of praise in your hand.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leaders should remind the members on getting desire rest by possessing their rightful placement.

BIBLE TEXT: Romans 6:1-11 (KJV)

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?Christian books

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: Salvation is God’s grace. It is the gift of freedom from our sins that Jesus made possible by taking the punishment for our sins on the cross. Through this gift, 1 John 1:9 promises that if we confess our sins he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God is faithful and daily invites us to find new life in response to that faithfulness.Christian books

LESSON AIM: To make members understand the salvation experience, the new you and what to do after salvation.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to;

Understand what salvation experience is;

Know what to do after salvation.

TEXT REVIEW: Romans 6:1-11

Grace cannot be found where sin is dominant.

Once there is salvation experience, there is provision for newness of life.

A new life in Christ ends old life of sin and grace of freedom from sin.

We are alive into God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

LESSON OUTLINE ONE: SALVATION EXPERIENCE

Many of us believe in the popular saying “Work Life Balance “. It simply means every aspect of our life is given a space or time is apportioned to every aspect of our life on a balanced ratio. For example, Work, Family, Hobbies, Careers, e.t.c. just like we have many Applications (App) on our OS (operating system). All the Apps runs in the background on the OS, some even add their spiritual life, church, salvation as an APP on the old Operating System. This is a big mistake we must avoid. According to Romans 6:2, our salvation experience should crash the old Operating System and become our new Operating System on which other Application runs. Your salvation experience should determine the kind of career to choose, job offer to accept, the kind of person to marry, the kind of family to have and even the kind of friends to keep. Salvation is a process, not a one-time event, receiving salvation through Christ isn’t the end of the process of being saved. It is the beginning of a lifelong process of being continually shaped into the people that God intends us to be.

There are three ways of Salvation;

Salvation begins by accepting Jesus as Lord and personal saviour.

Lifelong process of sanctification.

Glorification or when we meet Christ in heaven.

LESSON OUTLINE TWO: THE NEW YOU

The new you that you have received from God (salvation) is like a seed that grows when properly cared for Matthew 4:4. The way you think, feel, make decisions and relate to others will be transformed as you grow in your relationship with Jesus, allowing Him to direct your life.

What to do after Salvation?

Go and sin no more. John 8:11

Daily Bible reading. Psalm 119:105, Joshua 1:8

Get baptized. Acts 2:38,41

Attend a local church. Hebrews 10:25

Have an active prayer life. Psalm 34:15, Luke 22:46

Be sanctified. Leviticus 20:7

Share Christ to others. Mark 16:15-16.

SUMMARY: We are to allow a new us to operate after salvation

CONCLUSION: Salvation is the free gift that God offers to us. Our lives, lived in a manner that pleases God, are our offerings of thanksgiving back to God. It is a heart and mouth matter. Romans 10:9, 10, Proverbs 28:13.

PRAYER POINTS

a) Father, let there be wind of new revival in all our churches.

b) Father, deliver our generation from lukewarmness towards kingdom business.

c) Father, cause all our altars to receive fire of Holy Ghost,

d) Father, open all eyes to the harvest that is spoiling.

e) Father, continue to use Daddy G.O as your battle axe.

GOLDEN DIET FOR THE WEEK.

MONDAY: Go and sin no more. John 8:11

TUESDAY: The scripture should be part of your daily life Joshua 1:8

WEDNESDAY: You need to have new experience of Holy Ghost baptism. Acts 2:38,41

THURSDAY: Never ignore the fellowship of the brethren. Hebrews 10:25

FRIDAY: Have an active prayer life. Psalm 34:15, Luke 22:46

SATURDAY: You need to be sanctified and be renewed. Leviticus 20:7

SUNDAY: Don’t keep the message to yourself, share with others. Mark 16:15-16.
