OPENING PRAYER: Father, may Your grace and mercy be in my life daily in Jesus’ name.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Leader should remind members of the fact that the storm may rage but there is need to allow God to respond to those stormy issues.

MEMORY VERSE: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4 (KJV)

BIBLE TEXT: 1 John 4:4-6 (KJV)

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: He that is in me simply means Jesus who lives in every believer is more powerful than the enemy who is in the world. What an amazing guarantee that God is greater than anything followers of Christ will endure or face in this world because they belong to Jesus?

LESSON AIM: To make members understand who God is to everyone who knows Him.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to know:

Who is in them individually.

That greater is He that is in them.

TEXT REVIEW: 1 John 4:4-6

a. Ye are of God little children and have overcome the adversaries.

b. People of the world will speak as of the world and the world will hear them.

c. We are of God, He that knoweth God heareth us.

d. Every child of God knows between the spirit of truth and error.

TEACHING METHOD: Use interactive for outline 1; lecture method of the rest.

Time Management: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

LESSON OUTLINE ONE: WHO IS IN YOU?

As a believer, He that lives in you is;

Jesus as taught by Apostle Paul – Ephesians 3:17.

The God that answers prayer – Psalms 65:2.

The All sufficient God – Genesis 17:1.

The Ocean divider and Healer of all infirmities – Exodus 14:13-16; 15:26b.

The Prince of Peace – Isaiah 9:6.

The Silencer of all adversaries – Esther 7:9-10.

LESSON OUTLINE TWO: GREATER IS HE

What does that mean? This means;

i. The Spirit of God is stronger than all activities of wicked forces – 1 John 4:4.

ii. The Spirit of God nullifies all handwriting of ordinances contrary to us – Colossians 2:15.

iii. The Spirit of God terminates all programmes of wicked forces – Acts 8:5-8.

iv. The Spirit of God brings to pass all what heaven plans – Genesis 30:22.

v. The Spirit of God makes you a sought out – Isaiah 62:12.

ACTIVITY: In which area does God reveals Himself as GREATER in your family?

SUMMARY: All power belongs to God and that God is in you.

CONCLUSION: Believers do not have to be afraid or disheartened for “Greater is He” in us. Jesus has power over the darkest and hardest troubles. Therefore, we are more than conqueror – Romans 8:37.
