TOPIC: The True Light

READ: John 1: 9-11(NKJV)

That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.

The MESSAGE: “That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world” (v.9; NKJV). Each one of us came into the world at some point (at our birth). One of the implications of this is that we are not ‘indigenous’ to the world; we are all some sort of visitors or pilgrims. Jim Reeves puts it aptly in his song: ‘This world is not my home, I’m just a passing through…’ If this is true as it is, then we all, having come into the world at some point, need some guide and some direction. This is exactly what Jesus came to do. He, being the true Light, gives light to every man.

It is not possible to live outside Christ and His principles and live successfully in this world. All who claim to know the way are liars! He (Jesus) made it clear that He is ‘the way’, not ‘a way.’ All confusions in this world arise from being unwilling to follow The Way (Jesus). And being the true Light, we are all in darkness until we meet Him who is the Light. Have you met Him? Are you walking in His ways? If you are confused in life, it may just be the proof you need that you need Him. We’re in darkness until we come to His light, and that’s final!

PRAYER: Lord, I humbly come to Your light in every area of my life.
