LESSON SIXTEEN (16)


TOPIC: PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please keep me on fire for a life of excellence

TODAY’S LESSON

MEMORY VERSE: “Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity” 1 Tim 4:12

*BIBLE TEXT:* 1 Timothy 4:12-16

12. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

14. ⁠Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

15. ⁠Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16. ⁠Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

*LESSON INTRODUCTION:* The word “passion” means power that comes from focusing on a set goal; great strong powerful emotion; zeal to get something done and the word “excellence” means a state of possessing good qualities in being outstanding or extremely good in eminent degree.

From these definitions, passion for excellence means strong powerful zeal to attain greatness, perfection or superiority. For believers, the mandate is for us to be excellent, productive, successful and outstanding in all we do or engage our hands to do.

*LESSON OUTLINE ONE*

*WHAT DOES PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE MEAN?*

i. Strong desire to do what is outstanding, extraordinary and remarkable. Matthew 14: 17-21, 25-29.

ii. To wade off opposition to your goals. Numbers 13: 27-30.

iii. Readiness to develop oneself, not minding the stress and the test. James 1:2-4.

iv. Readiness to develop oneself on your last goal or objectives.

v. Having a mindset of winning. 1 Samuel 17:34-37.

vi. Staying focused on your desired dream. 2 Timothy 4:8.

*LESSON OUTLINE TWO*

*KEYS TO EXCELLENCE*

1. Always take responsibility for your actions whether positive or negative.

2. Desire to change your actions positively to get desired outcome,

3. Balance your life by making good choices.

4. Be positive with your language. Phil 4:13.

5. Choose friends that will help you meet your goals. 1 Cor 15:33

6. Always align your actions with scriptures, define values as God’s own.

7. Don’t allow anyone to think less of you. 1 Sam 17:28-29.

8. Never neglect gifts, opportunities you receive or access. 1 Tim 4:14.

9. Give attention to profitable issues that can aid your greatness.

10. Throw yourself into great tasks so that everyone will see your progress. 2 Timothy 4:15. Esther 4:16.

*SUMMARY:* To be excellent requires hard work, self discipline, and positive attitude towards achieving set goals. Many obstacles may come but with positive orientation and readiness of heart, excellence is achievable.

*PRAYER POINTS*

1. Father, let your Spirit of excellence be released on your church.

2. Every power working against your program for your church and youths be silenced.

3. Lord, make me your own instrument of power in this end time.

4. Father, renew and repackage our youths for purposeful living.

*GOLDEN DIET FOR THE WEEK*

*MONDAY:* Let every gate and shut doors be opened. Ps 24:7-10.

*TUESDAY:* God can do miracles that will swallow all unbelief. 2 Kings 7:1-20.

*WEDNESDAY:* Offer quality praise and worship to God and see Him in action fight all your battles. 2 Chro 20:20

*THURSDAY:* There is a God that is unlimited in all His dealings.

*FRIDAY:* Let the consuming fire consume all that my Father has not planted in me, my family and RCCG. 2 Kings 1:9-12.

*SATURDAY:* Goliath must fall and Haman must be silenced.

*SUNDAY:* Lord, reveal yourself to as many that are asking where is my God. Psa 2:4.
