TOPIC: Follow My Lead (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 12 October 2023)
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 23, Jeremiah 24, Acts 10, Acts 11
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Esther 6:1-12 (KJV)
1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.
2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.
3 And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.
4 And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king’s house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.
5 And the king’s servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court. And the king said, Let him come in.
6 So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?
7 And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour,
8 Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head:
9 And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour.
10 Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king’s gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken.
11 Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour.
12 And Mordecai came again to the king’s gate. But Haman hasted to his house mourning, and having his head covered.
MEMORY VERSE: “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” – John 8:12 (KJV)

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:
Gideon was a great and charismatic leader. As he sought to win a great victory for the Lord against the Midianites, he gave his people an instruction, “Look on me, and do likewise: and behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that as I do, so shall ye do.” When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon (Judges 7:17-18). When the soldiers in Gideon’s army followed this lead, they won a great victory against their enemies -the Midianites. Jesus Christ tells us the same today: “Follow my lead, beloved.” Jesus, by this, urges us to be like Him in thought, speech and action, as a matter of priority. Christlikeness-transforming to the image of Christ must be our focus. In Acts of the Apostles, people looked at the disciples and said they had been with Jesus. It means that they were Christlike.

Let us now examine how Jesus wants believers to follow His lead. The Lord asks believers to do the following: (1) Love as He has loved (John 13:34) (2) Endure injustice as He did (1 Peter 2:20-21). (3) Deny themselves as He did (John 16:24) (4) Serve one another as He has served us (John 13:14-15) (5). Be humble as He was (Matthew 11:29) (6) Obey as He obeyed (Philippians 2:5-8). (7) Walk as He walked (1 John 2:6).
Apostle Paul is a shining example of a believer that obeyed this instruction to follow Christ’s lead. He was undoubtedly an imitator of Christ. He also encouraged others to be imitators of God. He wrote, “Follow me as follow Christ.” Apostle Paul and other Bible characters who followed Christ’s lead experienced fulfillment in life and ministry. As you make Christlikeness your goal and follow Christ’s lead and examples daily, your life will be an amazing success story, in Jesus’ name.
