TOPIC: Waiting Upon The Lord (IV) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 4 September 2023)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 13, Isaiah 14, Matthew 23, Matthew 24

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 40:28-31 (KJV)

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

MEMORY VERSE: “Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.” – Micah 7:7 (KJV)

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES:

Your waiting period is your growing period. Endure it.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP:

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

In conclusion of the issue on waiting upon the Lord, we shall be looking at those who can wait and hindrances to the rewards for waiting.

So far we have seen the blessings of waiting upon the Lord. However, waiters must have peculiar qualities before they can enjoy the spiritual dividends of waiting upon the Lord. This starts right with genuine salvation. You must have surrendered your life to Jesus and be totally committed to living a righteous life. The Psalmist gave the qualifications of those who can ascend to the hills of the Lord, as those with “clean hands, a pure heart, have not sworn deceitfully, nor lifted his soul unto vanity………”(Ps.24:3-5) These are the people who can access God’s presence in order to present their petitions before Him.

God is looking for the pure in heart, sin-free and dedicated Christians whose waiting will provoke uncommon testimonies and manifestations. He did it for Elijah, the man of fire. He waited on the Lord while the prophets of Baal demonstrated their folly from morning till evening. By the time he came on the scene, he repaired the altar and prayed a simple prayer. The outcome was that God answered by fire from heaven and it licked everything upon the altar, even water.

This is what God can do if you’re ready to wait on Him. He will cause wondrous things to happen and turn you to a spectacular wonder. Daniel knew his God and was able to do exploits (Dan 11:32). This is another wonderful experience that waiters upon God will have. You cannot wait upon the Lord without having an intimate relationship with Him. Moses became God’s friend who talked mouth to mouth with Him. Joseph received divine ideas and initiatives to manage the economy of Egypt during famine. David became the man after God’s heart, while Daniel had the gift of knowing the mind of God. You must believe and trust Him absolutely that He will do what He said (Isa.28:16).

Do you want to enjoy all of these?, be ready to pay the price that these men of old paid. They fled from sin! “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me” (Ps. 66:18).

Sin separates man from God. Sin cripples and destroys. A sinner, a doubter and unstable person cannot become an eagle Christian, neither can he experience a divine renewal and refreshing. Such can’t even access the place of waiting.

I counsel you to examine yourself and do the needful so that you can enjoy God’s presence. And as you wait on Him, all the promised blessings shall be your portion, in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

I shall not be a cast away from God’s presence, in the name of Jesus.

Anything that would make me stink in the nostrils of God, come out of my life by fire, in the name of Jesus.

My life, carry the anointing to be God’s friend, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

Father, make a man/woman after your heart, in the name of Jesus.

Sin will not amputate my relationship with God, in the name of Jesus.

O God my Father, empower me to be patient and hopeful in You always, in the name of Jesus.

Lord, make me a spectacular wonder, in the name of Jesus.
