Topic: The Mystery Of One Flesh! (3)

Dear Reader,

It’s been great having the opportunity to minister to you this month, as you continue to take the place of your glorification this year.

So far, we have established that an understanding of the mystery of “one flesh” informs your operation in the home for a perfect union. Marriage, as we have come to realise, is designed to make life better for man. We also saw that God’s help is always available for us as He is committed to the marriage institution that He set up.

This week, I will be showing you The Benefits Of Oneness!

First, I want you to know that God’s purpose for designing marriage is for it to benefit man and not Himself. This is why the understanding of the mystery of “one flesh” is for better living and not a compulsory adaption.

One of the benefits of oneness is Spiritual Fortification!

The mystery of “one flesh” is designed by God to provide additional spiritual strength for man. God’s Word says: Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend (Proverbs 27:17). That is, God initiated this mystery for the man and his wife to sharpen each other.

Note that only iron sharpens iron; wood cannot sharpen iron.  This reinforces the importance of the fact that the two must belong to the same Kingdom, spiritually. Reciprocal reinforcement among couples makes it easy for both of them to win spiritual battles.

This kind of spiritual fortification makes for spiritual prosperity.  The prosperity of your soul is what determines the prosperity of every other area of life. God’s Word says: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 1:2).

It is evident from the above Scripture that God wants His people to have all-round prosperity, beginning from the spiritual. It is a spiritual law that the extent to which you prosper in your soul determines the extent to which you prosper physically. In other words, God intends that the married would reinforce, support and uphold each other to find spiritual prosperity. As they do that, they will also find prosperity in health, finances and materials.

This is not to say that Christians who are not married are necessarily weaklings. When a man is united with God’s choice for him, and dives into the mystery of “one flesh”, they become sources of inspiration to each other for soaring higher in the realm of the Spirit. As a result, they become fortified and stronger.

In God’s own scheme, two are better than one. However, spiritual uplift can only come when you accept the Lord Jesus Christ into your life. To accept Jesus into your life, please say this prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God.  I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”

If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

Congratulations! You are now born again! All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org; OR 07026385437 and 08141320204.
