1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

Slaves who love their chains shall remain in bondage. Spiritual chains are terrible. It is gross stupidity to misjudge the evil wisdom of our foe, the devil. Satan will not hesitate to employ any weakness in our lives. The enemy has repackaged his chains to make them look innocent and attractive.

A man becomes a slave who loves his chains when he is tied to a destructive habit or addiction. Chain is a series of linked rings used for fastening or securing something or for pulling loads. Bondage is defined as the state of being a slave. So spiritual bondage is the state of being a spiritual slave. Who then is a slave? A slave is the property of the owner and he or she works without expecting payment. A slave is anyone who is under the power of a master to whom he belongs. A slave has no right, no choice, and cannot own anything.

Anything can happen to a slave; the master can decide to sell or keep him or her. Whatever he owns belongs to his master. Nobody cares if he or she dies or lives. Once the mark of slavery is established on the body of a slave, he becomes a slave forever (Exodus 21:2-7). According to Exodus 21:28-32, the life of a slave is worthless.

There are many factors that can make somebody to become a slave under bondage. Any form of immorality will enslave a man. Beloved, if you don’t want to be a slave in captivity, shun immorality. Every other sin which a man commits is outside the body but the immoral man sins against his own body.

Inherited evil foundation that is not properly dealt with will make someone to be in slavery. Any form of sin at all is a chain that will keep its victim in perpetual bondage. Therefore, run away from sin. Also, worldly pleasures are chains that keep people in bondage. The Bible warns that you should not love the world (1 John 2:15). Unbroken, inherited or acquired curses and covenants are chains that will keep their victims in bondage. Incomplete deliverance is also a chain that keeps people in bondage.

Beloved, take a personal decision today to set yourself free from anything that keeps you in bondage. Go for deliverance if need be. Remember that Jesus died for you to set you free. God bless you as you accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

I withdraw any cooperation that I have given to evil habit in my life, in the name of Jesus.

I shall not serve my enemies, in the name of Jesus.

I release myself from every dominion of evil powers, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

Holy Spirit, break me loose from Pharaoh holding my destiny captive, in the name of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, nail the power of the flesh in my life to Your cross and bury it now, in the name of Jesus.

Power of resurrection, quicken my mortal body, in the name of Jesus.

I receive victory over sin, by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
