TOPIC: The Unity Of Believers

READ: John 17:20-26 (NKJV)

” I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;

“that they all may be one, as You, Father, [are] in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

“And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:

“I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

“O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me.

“And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare [it,] that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

THE MESSAGE:

The text today tells us about Christ’s prayer for the Church: That all believers should become one, even as they live in this world. Jesus demanded that the church will be one in all things, just as the cord of oneness between the Father and the Son (John 10:38). He also requested that being one, the church will be made perfect in all things so that the world may see the salvation through Jesus Christ. In addition, Jesus desired that believers will have eternal place with Him in heaven where they would behold His glory as God (John 14:3).

As Christians, having given our lives and totality to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, these prayers should be our comfort and target, no matter what comes as challenge(s) to our Christian race. The unity of the Church is important, especially at this time of serious persecution. What is expected from the Church is to live in line with Christ’s prayers till the end. There in heaven, we will all behold His glory, honour, power and majesty.

PRAYER: Father, we beseech You to give grace of unity to Your Church that we may remain forever in You till the end of age. Amen.

Open heavens NG : Unless you are born again,you can not see the Kingdom of God .Please say the displayed prayer below in faith:

Dear God, I come before you as a sinner, recognizing my need for forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins. I am truly sorry for my actions and the ways I have fallen short. I repent of my sins and ask for your forgiveness. I invite Jesus into my heart and life, to be my Lord and Savior. Please guide and transform me from this day forward. Thank you for your grace and mercy. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
