READ: Psalms 103:1-5

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 53-56

MESSAGE

One of the condemnable attributes possessed by the children of Israel was their forgetfulness of God’s goodness. Whenever they were faced with a challenge, they would turn on Moses and blame him for taking them out of Egypt where they had food to eat despite their captivity. In fact, they almost made Moses lose his glorious destiny as a result of their “stiff-necked” acts and blame games. Sometimes, when faced with a challenge, it is easy to forget the blessings from God in times past. So, like David, you need to admonish yourself as he did in Psalm 150:2:

“Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.”

No matter the situation around you, you must never be ungrateful to God because His goodness flows to you daily in form of protection, provision, guidance, direction, et cetera. That you woke up this morning is a miracle that you should be grateful for.

HYMN 10 – Praise, My Soul, The King Of Heaven

Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;

To His feet your tribute bring.

Ransom’d, heal’d, restor’d, forgiven,

Who like thee His praises should sing?

Praise Him! Praise Him!

Praise the everlasting King!

Praise Him for His grace and favor

To our fathers in distress.

Praise Him, still the same as ever,

Slow to chide, and swift to bless.

Praise Him! Praise Him!

Glorious in His faithfulness!

Father-like He tends and spares us; Well our feeble frame He knows.

In His hands He gently bears us,

Rescues us from all our foes.

Praise Him! Praise Him!

Widely yet His mercy flows!

Angels, help us to adore Him; Ye behold Him face to face.

Sun and moon, bow down before Him,

Dwellers all in time and space.

Praise Him! Praise Him!

Praise with us the God of grace!
