MESSAGE

There are some attitudes we possess that have both good and bad sides. For example, a teenager who likes to talk and impart knowledge may appear very confident and sharp, but if left unchecked he/she may become talkative and fall prey to the enemy. However, with the help of the Holy Spirit, the fellow will be able to control himself/herself. Temperance, also known as self-control involves moderation, constraint, and the ability to say ‘No’ to immoral desires and fleshly lusts. One of the proofs that the Holy Spirit is working in your life is the ability to control your thoughts, words, and actions. It’s not that you are becoming weak-willed: rather, you’re becoming more conscious of who you are in Christ.

When you have self-control, you will find it is easy to tolerate people and would not get easily provoked. Even when you are provoked, you will find a better way to communicate your emotions. I pray that the Spirit of God will guide your actions, especially in unpleasant situations always in Jesus’ name.

KEY POINT:

Temperance (self-control) can restrict you from being foolish.

HYMN 3 – All To Jesus I Surrender

All to Jesus I surrender

All to Him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust Him,

In His presence daily live.

CHORUS

I surrender all.

I surrender all:

All to Thee,

my blessed saviour

I surrender all

All to Jesus I surrender,

Humbly at His feet I bow;

Worldly pleasures all forsaken.

Take me, Jesus, take me now.

All to Jesus I surrender.

Lord, I give myself to Thee;

Fill me with Thy love and power,

Let Thy blessing fall on me.

All to Jesus I surrender,

Now I feel the sacred flame

O the joy of full salvation!

Glory, glory to His name!
