5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 22-23

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS MESSAGE

King Solomon is said to be the wisest king that ever lived. That means no king is as wise as he was, even till now. He became the wisest because he had the fear of God. He understood that his wisdom was foolishness to God. He assumed the throne early and was smart enough to know that the elders that surrounded him were likely to mislead him, and he didn’t want to incur God’s wrath. So, he took a wise step by asking God for wisdom when he was given a blank cheque to ask for anything. This is something many people will consider foolish as they would most likely have requested for material things if they were in Solomon’s shoes. King Solomon’s request made God bless Him beyond what he asked for.

It was also the wisdom gotten from the fear of God that made Joseph refrain from sleeping with Potiphar’s wife. It is wisdom to run away from sin. Beloved, get this wisdom and don’t engage in sin.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, give me your wisdom that will enable be to shun sin in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 16 – Breathe On Me

Breathe on me, Breath of God,

Fill me with life anew,

That I may love the way you love,

And do what you would do.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,

Until my heart is pure,

Until my will is one with yours,

To do and to endure.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,

So shall I never die,

But live with you the perfect life

For all eternity.
