TOPIC: Goals For Parenting (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 11 April 2023)
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 10, 1 Kings 11, 1 Kings 12, Revelation 13, Revelation 14
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Colossians 3:20-25, 1 John 4:16-18 (KJV)
Colossians 3:20-2;
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
1 John 4:16-18;
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
MEMORY VERSE: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:
What are your fears about parenting? God the Father, as creator and Lord of all things, fears nothing because He is greater than everything.
Jesus was a faithful and loyal Son to his Father. Therefore, He had no fear. He was never driven or overcome by fear when he was with His disciples. His life, while parenting on earth, was short and was so powerful. Unlike us, Jesus was never driven or overcome by fear. He was driven only by His Father’s will, but he constantly had to comfort and reassure His disciples against fear.

Another major reason Jesus came on earth was to parent us by teaching us how to think and act like our heavenly Father. Apostle Paul followed the same example when he was with Timothy, his son in the faith. In 2 Timothy 1:7, he said, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” God is not a God of fear. As His children, we should not be children of fear. We should raise our children to be free of fear. But our goal as parents is to reproduce children who will be like us and ultimately like God, our original parent. Also, our primary task is to train our children in the way of the Lord.
Our Fire Scripture says, “God is love.” God wants His children to bear His likeness. When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and personal Saviour, we received the Spirit of God which is love. The same love that characterises Him characterises us.
The question is – what difference would it make if you could live without fear? What difference would it make in your children’s life if they do the same too?
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
I envelop my children with divine covering, in the name of Jesus.
I insure the lives of my children with the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
O Lord, shield my children against every evil attack, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
O Lord, let all my children be taught of the Lord, in the name of Jesus.
My children shall not become vagabonds, in the name of Jesus.
I hide the lives of my children in the strong tower, in the name of Jesus.
Begin to thank God for answered prayers.
