MEMORISE: And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. – Revelation 22:12
READ: Matthew 25:19-21 (KJV)
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Proverbs 23-24
Open Heaven 26 September 2021 MESSAGE:
Man is wonderfully and fearfully made. Created in the image of God, man is a “god” to other forms of creation, according to Psalm 82:6, which is re-established in John 10:34. God Almighty created man for a divine purpose and for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11). At the same time, God has prepared a reward for every man who chooses to fulfil His purpose for his life (Revelation 22:12).

In today’s Bible test, we read of the faithful servant who made good use of the talents given to him by his master and received a commendation. Jesus Christ said in John 15:16:
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
The Lord is encouraging someone reading this devotional today that He is taking note of your labour of love in the Church and to humanity. Though your pastor or head of department may not commend you, the Almighty God will reward you handsomely if you will not be weary in well-doing, according to Galatians 6:9 which says:
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Peter asked the Lord what their reward would be, seeing that they left everything to follow Him. Jesus answered in Mark 10:29-30 and said:
“…Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”
Beloved, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour if you haven’t done so yet. After this, begin to work for Him, serve Him and His Church through soulwinning and sacrificial giving. You will surely be commended. Recall that our memory verse says “I come quickly and my reward is with me…”

Open Heaven 26 September 2021 HYMN 23: Jesus My Lord, My God, My All
1. Jesus, my Lord, my God, my all!
How can I love Thee as I ought?
And how revere this wondrous gift,
So far surpassing hope or thought?
Refrain:
Sweet Sacrament, we Thee adore!
Oh, make us love Thee more and more.
Oh, make us love Thee more and more.
2. Had I but Mary’s sinless heart
With which to love Thee, dearest King,
Oh, with what ever fervent praise,
Thy goodness, Jesus, would I sing!
3. Thy Body, Soul and Godhead, all!
O mystery of love divine!
I cannot compass all I have,
For all Thou hast and art is mine!
4. Sound, then, His praises higher still,
And come, ye angels, to our aid;
For this is God, the very God
Who hath both men and angels made!
