Topic: Be Organised [Teens Open Heavens 24 January 2021]
Memorise: But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way. 1 Corinthians 14:40
Read: Luke 14:28-30
28 ”Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?
29 For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him,
30 saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’
Bible In One Year: Exodus 7; Matthew 17:1-15
MESSAGE:
There’s a saying that the pen is mightier than the sword. That’s why I keep a diary with me everywhere I go. It’s not easy combining my responsibilities as a wife, mother and pastor: all the things I need to attend to cannot be memorized because it’s a whole lot. In our home, we receive guests daily and they all have to be catered for. I check up on family and friends, visit mission fields, organize programmes et cetera. The Holy Spirit has been our source of strength but we have also imbibed a culture of being organized from an early age.
You need to learn how to organize your life from the moment you wake till you go to bed at night. Start by rising early, make your bed, and clean your room. Arrange your things in the right places; when you pick something from its place, return it, don’t just drop things anywhere. Our God is a God of order. He didn’t create everything in one day. At creation, He simply planned His week and achieved His aim. On the seventh day, he rested. Emulate your Heavenly Father by being orderly.
Key Point:
Plan you day after your devotion and stick to it.
Hymn 2: All Things Bright And Beautiful
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours
He made their tiny wings.
The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset, and the morning
That brightens up the sky.
The cold wind in the winter
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well
