Buhari reduces number of cars in his convoy
28 December 2015, 11:37Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered a reduction in the number of cars in his convoy, reports Daily Trust.
This is part of the measures aimed at reducing the cost of governance.
The president now moves in a motorcade of about 12 vehicles.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan maintained not less than 23 cars in his motorcade.

President Buhari had earlier turned down a request by senior government officials to buy new cars worth N400 million for his use.
The story is, however, different with the leadership of the National Assembly.
Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara’s motorcades have remained unchanged.
Saraki and Dogara’s convoys comprise of an average of 10 vehicles each.
Sarak’s convoy is sometimes longer when going for functions outside the National Assembly.
